Webb Ellis Balls

Webb Ellis are pleased to announce that current Welsh international, British Lion and Neath-Swansea Ospreys centre, Gavin Henson, has signed up to endorse Webb Ellis match balls. The deal will see Gavin help promote, market, and develop the range of Webb Ellis balls which are considered to be the best in the field.

Gavin Henson said: "The Webb Ellis balls which we use in the Heineken Cup are fantastic. They go a long way off the foot and fly straight and true like an arrow. I'm looking forward to working with a fresh and dynamic brand, and giving as much input as possible into ball performance."

Lawrence Webb, Managing Director of Webb Ellis said: "Gavin has made a tremendous impact on the international scene this year, and to have somebody of his calibre to help develop the technological aspects of the match ball is another massive advantage for us. The kicking in this years Heineken Cup has been execptional, and if we can improve this further still, it will take us further ahead of the competition."

Futuristic ball design and development at the home of Rugby

Webb Ellis have teamed up with scientists based at Photonics Cluster to further develop Webb Ellis match balls. Already used by the world's leading clubs, including all Premiership Clubs, the Welsh, Scottish, and Irish district and provincial teams, the Webb Ellis ball will take a massive leap ahead of all competition Dr. Archenhold said: "Using specialist laboratory equipment, such as the surface profiler and 3 D scanning systems, we will be analysing the aerodynamics of the rugby ball, its surface texture and other qualities before we create a computerised 3D model - and then 'kick' the ball about in a 'virtual' world. The result will be a match ball that will give a player unrivalled grip, whatever the weather, and produce a longer, truer flight than ever before."
